- HEVC decoding and transcoding
- Up to 4 tuners and demodulators per receiver
- Wide symbol rate demodulation
- Support for 4 audio decoders
- Over-the-air (OTA) licensing
The picture quality and efficiency of Cisco's encoding and statistical multiplexing systems are complemented by a full range of flexible receivers. Each product or configuration can be uniquely tailored for its specific application. And each receiver platform contains a feature set and form factor that matches value with performance.
The receivers support a variety of inputs, such as IP, ASI, and DVB-S2, and can decode today's standard video codecs, including MPEG-2, AVC, and HEVC.
In addition to single-stream decode applications, Cisco's receiver portfolio supports bulk decrypt and multi-channel transcoding. Most features are enabled by an OTA software license, giving content providers the ability to deploy a solution that grows with your needs.
The D9800 offers hardware configurability. This allows content providers to customize the product to support HEVC and UHD delivery over satellite and IP terrestrial content distribution networks. It is available in two models: single-stream and multi-stream.
The single-stream chassis serves applications such as decoding to analog or baseband digital. The base model supports MPEG-2 decoding and outputs SD video. It can be licensed to support AVC and HEVC decoding as well as output up to 3G-SDI digital video. The single-stream chassis also supports decoding and passthrough of up to 4 audio PIDs.
The multi-stream chassis supports bulk decryption and multi-channel transcoding applications. It is capable of up to 400 Mbps on the input and up to 800 Mbps on the output. The AVC input can transcode up to 16 channels in a single rack unit. The D9800 Transcoder comes standard with two channels. Additional channels can be enabled over the air. The HEVC transcoder can transcode up to 8 channels in a single RU. Users can license the 4-port satellite demodulator to support up to 4 tuners or demodulators, giving it the ability to take services across multiple transponders.
The D9865 Satellite Receiver is a desktop-form-factor PowerVu receiver for emerging market applications that prioritizes cost over feature set. It comes in three models:
- The B model, our base model, has a composite video output
- The H model adds HDMI to the B model
